For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. (Romans 11:29) For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified. (Romans 8:30) For He who calls you is faithful; He also will bring it to pass. (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
For the LORD has sworn and will not change His mind. (Psalm 110:4) God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and will He not do it? or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19) For just as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so I am bringing on them all the good that I am promising them. (Jeremiah 32:42) For I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all My heart and with all My soul. (Jeremiah 32:41) For the LORD will not abandon His people, on account of His great name, because the LORD has been pleased to make you a people for Himself. (1 Samuel 12:22)
For His covenant He remembers forever, the word He commanded to a thousand generations. (Psalm 105:8) I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6) Even if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:13)
Thus salvation stands not upon the effort of man, but upon the faithfulness of God. He who gives the gift does not revoke it; He who calls does not release His hold. For whom He calls, He also justifies; and whom He justifies, He also glorifies—no link in His chain is broken, no purpose of His heart fails. As He swore by Himself, because He could swear by no one greater, so He confirmed His promise with an oath, that by two unchangeable things—in which it is impossible for God to lie—we might have strong consolation. (Hebrews 6:13–18) Therefore our confidence rests not in our constancy but in His character; not in our grip upon Him, but in His hand that holds us. For He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23) And He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
