In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1); and God said, Let there be light, and there was light (Genesis 1:3); and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it (John 1:5); for God who said, Light shall shine out of darkness, is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).

All we like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way (Isaiah 53:6); there is none who seeks for God (Romans 3:11); the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick; who can know it? I, Yahweh, search the heart, I test the inmost being, to give to each according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds (Jeremiah 17:9-10).

You shall not do… every man what is right in his own eyes (Deuteronomy 12:8); for there is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 14:12); so I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, to walk in their own devices (Psalm 81:12); and they walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart (Jeremiah 7:24).

Yet God said, You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart (Deuteronomy 6:5); Circumcise your heart (Deuteronomy 10:16); Make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit (Ezekiel 18:31); but Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart to love Him (Deuteronomy 30:6); and I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you (Ezekiel 36:26); I will cleanse you from all your filthiness (Ezekiel 36:25).

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him (John 6:44); it does not depend on the one who wills or the one who runs, but on God who shows mercy (Romans 9:16); for by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8); for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20); the love of Christ controls us (2 Corinthians 5:14); He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6); now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy (Jude 24); for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen (Romans 11:36).
